Effective Communication- To Leave Positive Impact
Hope you have checked my previous post on Non-Verbal Communication Skills which has the most important role in making our communication effective and impressive. This post, Effective Communication- To Leave Positive Impact, focuses mainly on Verbal Communication skills. As already mentioned in the previous post, communication doesn't only mean speaking words but also how we are using words and choices of words to achieve the desired goal. For example, if hundreds of candidates applied for an entry-level position in a reputed MNC looking for fresh graduates only, usually the required number of applicants only will get the job, not everyone. And mostly the selection is based on the communication they had in the interview. Here comes Effective Communication Skill which is one of the most important skills to get success in various areas like job interviews, career growth, getting a promotion, increasing sales/ marketing, public speaking, and even winning the heart of your beloved 😉 and so on.
Importance of Effective Verbal Communication
Imagine you are being interviewed by an employer and you are asked to convince the employer to hire you. If you can not articulate your answer with relevant information which may help the job role to achieve desired result or success, you may lose the opportunity for the wrong choice of words or wrong representation of thoughts. This simple example shows one’s verbal communication is important to achieve the desired goal both in personal and professional situations. Speaking words isn’t necessarily enough to make your communication effective. To make your communication effective you must know certain ways to do so. Communication can make or break one’s chance to achieve the desired goal in their target areas. Effective communication gives one an opportunity to connect with people, build relationships and influence perception positively towards them. It is also key to achieving success in building one’s career. In a professional area, it helps one in various ways like to promote their skills or expertise, provide feedback, build rapport with the team, presenting ideas, advertise products, etc.
